Inactivated vaccine against enzootic Pneumonia, in injectable
suspension
COMPOSITION PER DOSE:
Inactivated Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae 50 AMU.
INDICATIONS FOR USE:
Fattening piglets: Active immunisation of healthy, susceptible piglets, free of
maternal antibodies, between the ages of 7 and 10 days old. Vaccination with
MYPRAVAC SUIS reduces pulmonary lesions and the weight loss associated with
infection by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
The duration of immunity has been demonstrated, by means of challenge, to be 70
days. A longer-lasting immunity has not been researched under laboratory
conditions; nevertheless, an improvement in weight gain and conversion factors over
the entire fattening period (6 months) has been observed under eld conditions.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Recommended vaccinal programme:
Administer one 2 ml dose per animal when 7 to 10 days old. This 2 ml dose should
be repeated 21 days later. Vaccinate by deep intramuscular injection into the neck
muscles, in the lateral cervical area behind the ear. It is advisable to alternate the
areas in which the two vaccinal doses are administered.
Pigs should not be revaccinated once they have received the recommended dosage.
The vaccine should be allowed to reach room temperature (+15 to +25 ºC) before
administration.
Expiry time after opening the package: use immediately after opening.
Shake before use.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer to diseased animals.
Do not administer to pigs infested with parasites due to the risk of selection of
parasites resistant to levamisole and to benzimidazole.
Do not administer to breeders or lactating or gestating sows.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
A slight, transitory increase in corporal temperature (of up to +1ºC) may be observed
for 1 to 2 days after each vaccination.
Vomiting, apathy, and shaking have occasionally been observed after vaccination.
Anaphylactic reactions may appear, on occasion, in some particularly sensitive
animals. A suitable treatment should be administered in such cases.
Long-lasting microscopic lesions may be detected at the inoculation site (multifocal
or diffuse myositis granulomatosis with nodular eosinophylic material present) after
vaccination.
GESTATION AND LACTATION:
The vaccine is contraindicated for use during gestation and lactation.
