Indication : Pigs: Induces parturition (farrowing) within 3 days of the normal predicted farrowing date. It may also be used to reduce weaning to estrus interval and weaning to fertile service interval in sows and increase the number of live piglets born at the next farrowing by administering 24-48 hrs after farrowing. Cattle/horses: Indicated for its luteolytic effect.

Dosage: Pigs: Administer 10 mg (2 mL) IM to induce parturition in pigs within 3 days of the normal predicted farrowing date. For postpartum use, administer 10 mg (2 mL) IM 24-48 hrs after farrowing. Cattle: 25 mg (5 mL) to be given by IM. Horses: 5 mg (1 mL) to be given by IM.

Precautions: Do not administer to pregnant animals unless parturition induction or abortion is desired. Induction of parturition or abortion with any exogenous compound may precipitate dystocia, fetal death, retained placenta, and/or metritis. Do not administer by IV. Pigs: Induction of parturition earlier than 72 hrs prior to the normal predicted farrowing date may result in increased piglet mortality.
